Before you book
- Insured: check with your insurer whether you need a GP referral and an authorisation code before your appointment.
- Paying for yourself: ask about consultation and test fees when you book.
- Bring a list of your medicines and inhalers, and any previous letters, test results or scan reports.

Fees and insurance
We see patients with most major UK health insurers and those paying for themselves. If you are insured, contact your insurer before your appointment: most require a GP referral and an authorisation code. Insurers vary in what they cover, particularly for tests and follow-up, so please check your policy.
If you are paying for yourself, our team or the hospital will tell you the consultation fee when you book, and the cost of any tests before they are arranged.

For GPs and referrers
Referrals are welcome by email to enquiries@chest-clinic.co.uk, addressed to a named consultant or to the next available. Please include relevant history, current medicines, previous results and imaging reports, and whether the patient is insured or self-funding.
Patients with urgent features – such as suspected lung cancer with significant haemoptysis, or acute severe breathlessness – should be referred through the appropriate NHS urgent pathway or emergency services.
