How to get to The Chest Clinic at Bishops Wood Hospital in Northwood

 

The Chest Clinic is located in Bishops Wood Hospital, in the grounds of Mount Vernon Hospital (on the A404 in Northwood, Hillingdon), close to Rickmansworth and Moor Park (Hertfordshire).

 

BY ROAD 


The hospital can be accessed from junctions 17 and 18 of the M25 motorway:

  • From junction 18: enter onto the A404 and head towards Rickmansworth. At each of the four roundabouts you encounter, simply follow the signs to remain on the A404 which will be signed posted Northwood. When you reach the 'Olde Greene Manne Public House', turn right into White Hill (towards Harefield). After about half a mile turn left through gate three of Mount Vernon Hospital and follow the signs for the Bishops Wood Hospital.

  • From junction 17: follow the signs for Maple Cross and Rickmansworth, turning left at the A412 roundabout to Rickmansworth. At each of the next three roundabouts turn right, travelling on the A404 sign posted to Northwood. When you reach the 'Olde Greene Manne Public House', turn right into White Hill (towards Harefield). After about half a mile turn left through gate three of Mount Vernon Hospital and follow the signs for the Bishops Wood Hospital.

Onsite parking is available free of charge.

Accessibility: there is access for wheelchair users and free disabled parking available.

If you come by bike, covered bike racks for use by the general public are located in front of the Treatment Centre, and near the Cancer Centre and Michael Sorbell House.

BY UNDERGROUND


Get the underground to Northwood Station on the Metropolitan line (coloured magenta on the tube map). From there:

  • Or take a bus: buses run directly from the station to the hospital (see below BY BUS).

  • Or take a taxiDiamonds Cars (tel. nr. 01923 820707) charge £6 from Northwood tube station to The Chest Clinic (June 2017).

 

BY BUS

The following buses will take you to Mount Vernon Hospital, which is next to Bishops Wood Hospital (where The Chest Clinic is located).

From Northwood high street (stop C, opposite the tube station) take any of these buses towards Northwood, to Mount Vernon Hospital (stop AP):

  • Bus H11: Harrow - Pinner - Northwood - Mount Vernon Hospital

  • Bus 8: Watford / Abbots Langley - Mount Vernon Hospital

  • Bus 282: Ealing Hospital - Eastcote - Northwood Hills - Northwood - Mount Vernon Hospital - Northwood - Ruislip

  • Bus 331: Uxbridge Station - Denham - Harefield - Mount Vernon Hospital.

Please, note that from the 6th of July 2017 buses won't accept cash; pay by oyster card or contactless card instead (more information on Transport for London website).

BY RAIL

Chiltern Railways to Rickmansworth, then change to the underground and follow the directions above in BY UNDERGROUND.
